( 2) Give at least three reasons of materials and/or technology why ancient people couldn’t build a modern “Wonder” like the Empire State Building.

Warm Up, October 4-5, 2018

During the past few lessons, we have discussed some of the popular materials that engineers use when designing new projects. One material property we haven’t discussed yet is the ability of a material to either be a magnet, or be attracted to a magnet. Explain when these properties would be desirable or undesirable. Give at lease 2 examples each of applications where these properties would be (A) desirable; and (B) undesirable.
